Coach DeMeco Ryans named C.J. Stroud the Texans' starting QB on Sunday, per Deepi Sidhu of the team's official site. As a result, Mills is slated to open the coming season as Houston's No. 2 signal-caller.
Mills completed 9 of 12 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown but lost a fumble in Thursday night's 20-9 win over the Patriots in the preseason opener.

Mills completed 22 of 38 passes for 298 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Texans' 32-31 win over the Colts on Sunday. He also rushed once for six yards and threw a game-winning two-point conversion pass.
Mills completed 17 of 28 passes for 178 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday's 19-14 win over the Texans. He added four rushes for eight yards.
