I’m as surprised as anyone that it took 7 weeks for us to get our first push of the season. Thank goodness for dodging a hook. And while I expect more from myself, I’ll take a 2-2-1 week when looking at the overall process. Of our 5 picks, I would love to take three of them weekly and four over 50% of the time. The only real whiff on the slate was betting against a proven South Florida team against a largely untested North Texas, and for one half, that pick looked good.
This week features three top-25 matchups, but is highlighted by some fun matchups between highly ranked teams and intriguing unranked opponents.
Overall, the power rating was successful with a 29-24 week, bringing the season total to 176-159. The perceived edge games struggled at just 16-17. Because of this shift, I’m going to review some portions of the system over the next week or so to try to bring that rate up. Games in this article will continue to be broken down in more depth, supported by the power rating, rather than just blindly following it.
As is the case every week, it’s time to look back on the process, make some tweaks to improve, and return to winning ways.
