Week 13 Streaming DSTs

Let’s dive into this week’s streaming options. Usually, we’re looking for under 50% rostered in Yahoo! Leagues, but there are two options this week that are just above 50% that are just too good to ignore. And with the lack of decent options below 50% this week, we’re gonna reach slightly above that 50% threshold in the hopes that one of these might be available in your league.

Buffalo Bills (Buf, 52%) @ SF

The normally reliable Sean McDermott defense hit a rough patch in Weeks 4-6 (partly due to massive injuries) but since then, the Bills D has been back to their turnover-producing ways. Over their last five games, Buffalo has 19 sacks, 6 INTs, and 4 fumble recoveries. They’ve been the #7 overall defense since then. The 49ers pulled off an upset last week, but needed major help from an imploding Jared Goff to do so. Even then, this sputtering offense led by Nick Mullens produced just 23 points, which is right around their average output.

Las Vegas Raiders (LV, 9%) @ NYJ

It’s pretty hard to lower your average points per game from a league-worst 14, but if anyone can do it, it’s the Jets. They managed just 3 points last week, and have remained the #1 offense for DST scoring all season. We’re starting every defense against the Jets, and it has paid off every week. This week, the Raiders D will get a chance to “get right.” Just three weeks ago, Las Vegas faced another struggling offense - Denver - and scored 16 FP with 4 INTs, 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and just 12 points allowed. This could be a similar week.

Minnesota Vikings (Min, 51%) vs. Jax

Since their Week 7 bye, HC Mike Zimmer has found a way to steady his defense that is missing Danielle Hunter and then lost Yannick Ngkaoue. They’ve been a top-10 defense since then, including holding Carolina to just 15 points last week. They’ve also been able to generate sacks without the aforementioned star pass-rushers, getting to the QB 5 times in the past 4 games. And thanks to an improved secondary, the Vikings have 6 INTs over that span. Their opponent has been one of the better matchups this season. Jacksonville remains a top-10 team for opposing DST production, giving up 3 sacks and over an INT per game.
