2025 Week 8 Same-Game Parlays (TNF)

WEEK 7 MNF POST-MORTEM

I was certainly wrong about how my beloved Detroit Lions defense would perform on Monday night. Perhaps I should have given more credence to the spread, which finished with Detroit favored by about a touchdown.

The game wasn’t all that close. Detroit’s defense, fielded entirely by backups in the secondary, stifled the Tampa Bay passing attack (aided, no doubt, by the departure of Mike Evans). Detroit had one drive cut short on the 78-yard rushing TD from Jahmyr Gibbs, which undoubtedly played a major role in missing the Jared Goff passing attempts line. Even if that Goff line had hit, the Detroit defense held Rachaad White to four receptions (on six targets) for just six receiving yards (over 20 yards below our projection), so that performance still doomed the Basic Ticket.

Meanwhile, in the Houston @ Seattle game, the only part I got wrong was Nico Collins. He finished with just 27 receiving yards on 10 targets. Talk about inefficiency. Somehow, though, based on how this season has gone so far, I have a feeling that if I had recommended an under on his receiving line, Collins would have managed to instead finish well over that line.

Monday resulted in a loss of -1.92 units. Here’s where things stand after seven weeks:

Definitely not a pretty sight. However, the rest of the team’s betting articles have had more than enough success to make up for my downswing. I’ll keep chipping away to claw back some of the losses and hopefully end up in the green by the end of the season.

Moving on to an exciting Thursday Night Football game.
