Week 13 DraftKings CFB Afternoon Slate Plays

In this final week of the college football regular season, there are good options in all price ranges on the Week 13 Afternoon Slate. We simply need to find the right plays and stacks to maximize our fantasy points. Excited to break this slate down below.

Let’s dig in…

Against the Spread Picks

LSU (-11.0) vs Texas A&M
Navy (-18.0) vs SMU
Florida (+6.5) vs FSU

Total Wagers

LSU vs Texas A&M (Over 66.5)
Charlotte vs USF (Over 57.0)
Colorado State vs Hawaii (Over 54.5)

Quarterbacks

Jalen Milroe, Alabama vs Auburn (DK: $9.5K | FD: $11.2K | O/U: 49.0 | Implied: 31.75)

Jalen Milroe has been in his bag over his last two SEC games, averaging 45.1 FPG. Fun fact — he posted 7 rushing TDs in those two games. With limited QB options on the afternoon slate, Milroe is by far the safest option with his high floor and crazy ceiling. Auburn generally plays Alabama tough in this in-state rivalry game, so Milroe should have to play the whole game. Milroe will be the QB I’ll build my lineups around.

Noah Fifita, Arizona vs Arizona State (DK: $7.4K | FD: $8.7K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 31.0)

Noah Fifita has continued to be exactly what Arizona needs at QB over the last seven games. He was impressive last week versus a tough Utah defense, throwing for 253 yards and 2 TDs for 18.1 FP. The Arizona State defense is allowing opposing QB1s to average 229 yards and 2 TDs for 21.6 FPG. I think this passing attack is going to have a really good game in a contest that I think hits the over. Fifita is a perfect stacking partner with Tetairoa McMillan.

Jake Retzlaff, BYU vs Oklahoma State (DK: $5.9K | FD: $7.8K | O/U: 57.0 | Implied: 19.75)

Jake Retzlaff is expected to start again this week after his best performance of the year last week versus Oklahoma. Retzlaff has proven to have some dual-threat abilities averaging 13.3 carries in three games. To be honest, it’s hard to get too excited about Retzlaff with a season-high of 20.8 FP. However, the Oklahoma State defense has allowed opposing QB1s to average 22.5 FPG this season, so the matchup is favorable. If you need a cheaper QB option for the Afternoon slate, then Retzlaff is your best option.

Jaden Rashada is min-priced and appears to be starting for Arizona State tomorrow so you could take a chance on him. He proved to have some potential to start the year, but hard to know what he will look like after not playing since Week 2.

Alternatives

Joe Milton, Tennessee vs Vanderbilt (DK: $7.5K | FD: $10.3K | O/U: 56.5 | Implied: 41.75)

Jaden Rashada, Arizona State vs Arizona (DK: $4.5K | FD: $6.8K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 20.0)

Running Backs

Ollie Gordon, Oklahoma St vs BYU (DK: $9.0K | FD: $11.5K | O/U: 57.0 | Implied: 37.25)

Ollie Gordon will be the most popular RB (again) on this slate, especially with no Jayden Daniels to compete from a pricing perspective. Gordon produced four 40-plus FP games in his last six games. Over that span, he is averaging 25.5 carries per game, which is insane volume. The BYU defense is allowing opposing RB1s to average 16.9 touches and 95.8 yards for 16.9 FPG. It’s almost impossible to fade Gordon in the afternoon slate.

Michael Wiley, Arizona vs Arizona State (DK: $4.5K | FD: $6.5K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 31.0)

Michael Wiley got the nod as RB1 on Senior Day for Arizona and took full advantage of his opportunity. At $4.5K, Wiley is too cheap as an explosive option who makes his living catching passes out of the backfield. Last week versus Utah, he caught 5 passes for 68 yards and 2 TDs for 26.2 FP. I don’t think he will replicate those numbers this week, but he’ll still be featured in the offense, especially if Jacob Cowing is out again. We need to explore cheaper options to pay up for Ollie Gordon this week.

Aidan Robbins, BYU vs Oklahoma St. (DK: $4.1K | FD: $5.7K | O/U: 57.0 | Implied: 19.75)

Aidan Robbins is a RB I am very familiar with from his UNLV days. Robbins took advantage of his extra carries last week (22), running for 182 yards versus Oklahoma. In fact, he has garnered 50 snaps and 16-plus carries in 3 of BYU’s last 4 games. Robbins is not a very good RB, but coming off a big performance, he should garner quite a few carries as BYU tries to play keep-away from the Cowboys. The Oklahoma State defense is giving up 14.7 carries, 93.7 yards, and 1.0 TDs for 17.6 FPG to opposing RB1s. At $4.1K, Robbins will be a core piece of my lineups this week.

Alternatives

Dillon Johnson, Washington vs Washington St (DK: $7.0K | FD: $9.2K | O/U: 68.0 | Implied: 42.5)

Jonah Coleman, Arizona vs Arizona St (DK: $5.3K | FD: $7.7K | O/U: 52.5 | Implied: 37.25)

Jaylen Wright, Tennessee vs Vanderbilt (DK: $5.2K | FD: $9.0K | O/U: 56.5 | Implied: 41.75)

Receivers

Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona vs Arizona St (DK: $7.0K | FD: $9.0K | O/U: 51.0 | Implied: 31.0)

Tetairoa McMillan was a low-owned WR option last week that paid off handsomely after he produced 28.7 FP. I suggest we go back to the same well in a rivalry game versus a soft Sun Devils’ defense. They are allowing opposing WR1s to average 7.2 receptions, 84.8 yards, and 1.1 TDs for 22.2 FPG this year. According to their schedule-adjusted FPG, they are allowing WR1s to produce 40.6 percent more FP than their season average. Lock him in this week.

Josh Kelly, Washington St vs Washington (DK: $6.3K | FD: $8.2K | O/U: 68.0 | Implied: 25.5)

Josh Kelly has been the leading Washington State receiver in fantasy points over the last three games, averaging 21.7 FPG. Yet, he is slightly cheaper than Lincoln Victor making him my favorite Washington State WR play on the slate. The Washington defense has been pretty good versus opposing WR1s, only allowing them to score 15.7 FPG. However, this is a rivalry game with the highest total on the slate. We want to have pieces of this game, and Kelly is the best, in my opinion, from the Cougars’ side as he will have single-digit ownership.

Brennan Presley, Oklahoma St vs BYU (DK: $5.9K | FD: $8.7K | O/U: 57.0 | Implied: 37.25)

Brennan Presley is breaking the mold for HC Mike Gundy as the lead Oklahoma State WR from the slot. I cannot think of a time in the last 9 seasons this has occurred under Gundy. Presley has produced 17.7 FP or more in 5 of 6 games, which would hit value on this slate. Last week, he turned 19 targets into 15 receptions for 189 yards in a monster game. This week. He faces a BYU defense allowing opposing WR1s to average 4.0 receptions, 70.6 yards, and 1.1 TDs for 17.6 FPG. Over half were slot receivers like Presley. Look for Gundy to continue to funnel targets to Presley this week.

Squirrel White, Tennessee vs Vanderbilt (DK: $5.7K | FD: $7.8K | O/U: 56.5 | Implied: 41.75)

Squirrel White is a GPP upside play for me this week in a good matchup. With Dont’e Thornton out for the year, White has the slot all to himself against a Vanderbilt defense allowing opposing WR1s to average 5.2 receptions and 65.2 yards for 15.4 FPG. I’d think Joe Milton III will have the opportunity to air it out a couple of times in his last home game for the Volunteers. White will be very low-owned as most people will target Tennessee’s RBs in this matchup.

Alternatives

Rome Odunze, Washington vs Washington St (DK: $8.5K | FD: $10.4K | O/U: 68.0 | Implied: 42.5)

Lincoln Victor, Washington St vs Washington (DK: $6.8K | FD: $8.3K | O/U: 68.0 | Implied: 25.5)

$4.5K-or-less options

Ramel Keyton, Tennessee vs Vanderbilt (DK: $4.3K | FD: $7.8K | O/U: 56.5 | Implied: 41.75)

Chas Nimrod, Tennessee vs Vanderbilt (DK: $3.5K | FD: $7.8K | O/U: 56.5 | Implied: 41.75)
