Hamlin participated in a full contact practice Monday for the first time since suffering cardiac arrest Jan. 2, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports."I'm just thankful," Hamlin said. "I'm just blessed to be able to do what I wanted to do as a kid again, at the highest level, after going through such a traumatic situation. To be able to come out here and compete again at the highest level in the world. That's such a blessing."
Hamlin, who suffered cardiac arrest during a Jan. 2 game versus the Bengals, was a full participant at practice Tuesday.
GM Brandon Beane noted Tuesday that Hamlin, who suffered cardiac arrest during a Jan. 2 game against the Bengals, has been fully cleared to return to playing football, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN reports.
Hamlin continues to progress from his cardiac arrest suffered Jan. 2 and has recovered enough that he's hoping to return to the NFL in the future, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports. Said general manager Brandon Bean this week, "He's dialed in. He definitely has every intention to play. He's got, I know of one more visit, but I think they'll get wrapped up by sometime in April, as it stands now."
Hamlin was released from University of Cincinnati Medical Center on Monday and has been cleared to return home to Buffalo, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
The Bills placed Hamlin on injured reserve Friday.
The Bills announced in a statement released Friday that University of Cincinnati Health physicians removed Hamlin's breathing tube overnight, and that the 24-year-old "continues to progress remarkably in his recovery."
Two University of Cincinnati Health physicians provided a positive update on Hamlin's status Thursday, noting that the 24-year-old has "made substantial improvement in his condition over the past 24 hours," Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
The Bills announced in a statement released Thursday that Hamlin has shown "remarkable improvement" in his recovery from the cardiac incident he suffered in Monday's game against the Bengals and "is making steady progress."
Hamlin remains in the intensive care unit at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition with signs of improvement noted Tuesday and overnight, according to an official statement from the Bills released Wednesday.
