Super Bowl LV

We’ve made it to the final game of a season unlike any other before it. The NFL played all 269 scheduled games this season and we’re even going to have some fans in the stands for the biggest television event of the year. This game pits the greatest player of all-time, Tom Brady, against the one player, Patrick Mahomes, who has the potential to one day challenge his status as the greatest ever. I’m looking at Tom Brady (TB) over 2.5 passing TDs + INTs (80 pts) as my first prop. TB12 has thrown for multiple TD passes in 10 straight games, including 3+ TDs in half of those games. He’s also thrown 15 INTs in 19 games this season to potentially push him over the top if he throws just two TD passes. I’m also looking at Leonard Fournette (TB) over 74.5 rushing + receiving yards (105 pts) and over .5 rushing + receiving TDs (85 pts). Playoff Lenny is dominating Tampa Bay’s backfield over Ronald Jones this postseason. Fournette is averaging 20.7 touches per game and 104.3 scrimmage yards per game in the playoffs and he’s scored in all three postseason games.

On Kansas City’s side of the ball, I’m taking Tyreek Hill (KC) over 85.5 receiving yards (100 pts). Tyreek had a great month in one game against the Buccaneers back in Week 12. He posted a ridiculous 13 catches, three TDs, and an NFL-best 269 receiving yards in a game against Tampa Bay. Hill has 105+ receiving yards with 37 total targets in his last three postseason games dating back to last season. For my final prop of the year, I’m taking Darrel Williams (KC) under 48.5 rushing yards (100 pts). I’m expecting the Chiefs to forego the running game more than usual in Super Bowl LV because of their ongoing offensive line issues. It also doesn’t help that they’re going against arguably the best defensive front in the league as the Buccaneers allowed a league-low 60.0 rushing yards per game to RBs. Throw in the fact that Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Le’Veon Bell could also be involved and I’m going to fade Williams’ rushing mark. That will do it for the season. I hope you enjoyed playing on Thrive and I hope you made at least a little bit of money along the way. Enjoy the big game and good luck! — Tom Brolley
